Job Title: RADIOLOGY TECH WITH PHLEBOTOMY SKILLS - PRESCOTT CLINIC
Clinic Hours: M-F 8-5
Job Summary:
PURPOSE OF POSITION – this is a full time position This person is special in that he/she performs and documents x-ray as well as laboratory procedures. This person is registered as a radiology technologist also. Ordering supplies from the main lab and x-ray rotating supplies as well as providing lists of supplies to order from laboratory and x-ray supply company is included. This person must have a willingness to work with realization that errors may have serious consequences for patients. Also, an ability to work under emergency conditions is essential. Attention to details for extended periods of time; alertness during all phases of work is mandatory since errors may result in incorrect diagnosis or treatment. Considerable initiative and judgment involved in adapting techniques and procedures for tests and in scheduling and planning various work phases is a requirement.

Duties:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Laboratory: 1. Responsible for all Quality Control and Quality Assessment in all aspects of the lab, including keeping logs, or forms or whatever is indicated. 2. Performs venipuncture when necessary. 3. Evaluates and documents test results as to accuracy. 4. Collects specimens and correctly labels them. 5. Check temperatures of the refrigerator and freezer. 6. Clean all areas of the laboratory 7. Order any supplies such as tubes, pipettes, urine cups, etc. 8. Restock all supplies, keeping all areas filled and ready for patients 9. Keeps barcode label printer loaded with labels. Loads printer paper on the Clinitek STATUS. 10. Keeps a log of manual test results such as quick strep, pregnancy test, mono spot, and pregnancy tests. 11. Process all lab orders in nextgen and “collects” them into Cyberlab to print barcode labels. 12. Label specimens appropriately with time of draw and initials of person drawing blood. 13. Disposes of biohazard wastes and specimens 14. Answers questions in area of responsibility 15. Looks up reports 16. Answers phone courteously 17. Receive any send out reports from LabCorp. Radiology 1. Turn on equipment Warm up machine. 2. Make sure maintenance on tube is done by the outside agency. 3. Order all supplies including gowns & pillowcases 4. Log all patients and procedures 5. Clean x-ray table, cassettes, etc. 6. File all badge reports 7. Instruct patients for procedures Miscellaneous duties 1. Schedule sleep studies, EGD/colonoscopy, outside physician appointments, and physical therapy. 2. Print medical records for other physicians or insurance companies 3. Make appointments for patients at other facilities outside of Collom and Carney 4. Do vital signs, open charts, assist with breast exams, pap smears, minor surgical procedures. 5. Clean exam rooms 6. Empty red biohazard bags

Qualifications:
1. Registered experienced X-Ray Technician with current Arkansas license. Trained in waived testing and venipuncture. 2. Pleasant, friendly disposition with the ability to work with co-workers and patients. 3. Awareness of need for discretion and for keeping confidential all matters relating to the clinic, the employees, and the patients. 4. Intelligence to use judgment and initiative determining the course of action in a particular situation 5. Ability to handle stressful situations while remaining calm. 6. Tact and diplomacy when dealing with staff members 7. Maturity to withstand pressures that may arise in relation to the patients, and other personnel or physicians. 8. Ability to devote attention to detail for extended periods of time. 9. Able to work in a team situation while promoting harmony and cohesiveness within the department. 10. Near visual acuity required to read detailed instructions and examine specimens 11. Color vision is required to detect color changes of specimens in stains used on specimens 12.
